Carmen is a Sunset native, having grown up in the neighborhood and attended Wah Mei, Jefferson, Saint Anne’s and Wash before heading to UCLA and SFSU.
She has always loved hosting and organizing events, but during the pandemic, she rediscovered her love for art. Combining these passions led to the creation of Sunset Commons—a space where creativity and community come together. She believes that anyone can do art and that there’s something truly special about bringing an idea to life with your own hands.
Carmen’s favorite craft? Crocheting!

Steven grew up in Chinatown before moving to Bayview, attending Presidio Middle School and Washington High before earning degrees from Skyline College, UCLA, and SFSU.
He has always loved hosting and organizing events and takes pride in the challenge of optimizing workflows and improving efficiency.
When it comes to crafting, Steven’s favorites are puzzles and 3D puzzles—a perfect blend of creativity and problem-solving!
